Pastoral Care

We deliver outstanding pastoral care which supports pupils to develop the characteristics and skills necessary to thrive during their time with us and for their onward journey.

Pastoral care begins within the classroom with all members of staff recognising each pupil as an individual. The development of a safe, secure and caring environment is at the centre of our school ethos and is the responsibility of every member of our school community.

We have a designated Pastoral Care Team who liaise with staff regularly to understand the needs of both individuals and the whole school. The team provide help and advice and support pupils on a one-to-one basis where necessary.

We have two Drawing and Talking professionals who deliver a non-directed therapy technique allowing individuals to discover and communicate their emotions.

Radlett Preparatory School is a ‘Tooled Up Education’ school, providing parents and teachers with resources to support with issues such as mental health, digital life, resilience, friendship, relationships, and family life.

Our School Dog, Basil, is a Golden Retriever. He has been coming into school since he was 14 weeks old and can often be found snoozing in Mrs Flynn’s office.

Once fully trained, Basil will spend his days visiting classrooms, supporting learners especially with reading and will help pupils who may be feeling sad or needing calm.
